Instagram, like most social media, is organized by hashtags; Anthropologie leverages this feature of the app in order to connect with its shoppers. One such hashtag is #anthroevents, through which local stores connect with their communities about the events they host, which include crafting parties and yoga lessons.

This article explores Anthropologie’s marketing strategy, and how the company doesn’t spend resources on typical advertising outlets. Instead, Anthropologie’s marketing team leverages social media and printed catalogues to reach its target audience.

This is the front page for the UM Anthropology department, which directed me on my search for a better understanding of anthropology as a science. The department page includes program information and, more importantly, a detailed overview of the study of anthropology and the questions it seeks to answer.

Along with local stores and an online store, Anthropologie also runs a blog. The blog’s content includes everything from profiles of newly opened stores to DIY posts that incorporate the company’s merchandise. This site contributes to Anthropologie’s marketing strategy in building a relationship with its target audience.
